In yet another example of how the non-mainstream hockey media is becoming more mainstream, Blue Jackets GM Scott Howson will be guesting on the Fire The Cannon show tonight. Fire the Cannon is a weekly podcast produced by @EricSmithHockey and @LoriSchmidt, two of the most informed Blue Jackets content generators populating what I like to call the Dark Side, that part of the CBJ media globe upon which the light of legitimacy rarely shines, the bloggers, twitterists and podcasters who serve the connected Blue Jackets fanbase.
As NHL hockey teams go, the Blue Jackets are actually quite liberal when it comes to their policies and practices in dealing with the non-traditional media folks. Howson's willingness to do Fire The Cannon with Eric and Lori is further proof of that. Good for Howson (and good for Eric and Lori)! Tune in as they show their gratitude by peppering Howson with questions about what went wrong this year, what he plans to do about it in the off-season, head shots in hockey and the Matt Cooke suspension, and much more.
